The Sound FX Panel in SAM Broadcaster Pro

The Sound FX panel gives you instant-play buttons for jingles, sweepers and sound effects — triggering audio immediately over whatever is currently playing.

Opening the Sound FX Panel

  1. Click Window in the menu bar
  2. Select Sound FX

How the Sound FX Panel Works

The Sound FX panel displays a grid of buttons — Effect buttons 1 through 12 — each assigned to an audio file from your Sound FX category. Clicking a button plays that audio immediately over your current output.

The panel includes:

  • Category dropdown — select which Sound FX category folder to display
  • Previous / Next Page buttons — navigate between pages of effects if you have more than 12
  • Page counter — shows which page you are currently viewing
  • Effect buttons 1–12 — display effects from the selected category in alphabetical order
  • Emergency Stop button — stops the currently playing effect immediately
  • Volume slider — sets the playback level of effects relative to your main output

Adding Audio to the Sound FX Panel

  1. Open the Playlist panel and navigate to the Sound FX category
  2. Add your jingle, sweeper or effect files to this category
  3. They will appear automatically in the Sound FX panel buttons

You can create multiple sub-categories within Sound FX and switch between them using the category dropdown in the panel.

Using Sound FX During a Broadcast

The Sound FX panel works alongside Auto DJ — you do not need to stop automation to trigger an effect. Click any button and the audio plays immediately. Use the Emergency Stop button if you need to cut the effect short.

Keep your volume slider set so effects are clearly audible above the music. Test this before going live.
