Station Admin today released SA Tag Manager Lite, a free WordPress plugin designed for internet radio station operators who use SAM Broadcaster or PlayoutONE as their playout software. The plugin connects directly to the station's music database and allows staff to update song tags — genre, decade, rotation weight, comments, and lyrics — without opening any additional software or writing a line of SQL.
The Problem It Solves
Internet radio operators spend significant time keeping song metadata accurate. Genre assignments drift, decade tags are missing, and rotation weights go unreviewed. Fixing these issues typically means opening SAM Broadcaster's database editor or navigating a separate administration tool. For stations running WordPress — the most common platform for internet radio websites — there has been no native way to manage song data without switching applications.
SA Tag Manager Lite solves this by bringing the song editor into WordPress. Station administrators who are already logged into their WordPress dashboard can tag the most recently played song in seconds, without leaving the browser tab they are already in.

Availability
SA Tag Manager Lite version 1.1 is available now as a free download at stationadmin.com/downloads/sa-tag-manager-lite/. The plugin requires WordPress 5.6 or later and PHP 8.0 or later. SAM Broadcaster mode requires the standard pdo_mysql PHP extension. PlayoutONE mode requires pdo_sqlsrv.
