SAM Broadcaster Pro: Website Integration and Remote Access

Chapter 13 of 14

Website Integration and Remote Access

A station website extends your reach to listeners, and remote access lets you manage your broadcast PC from anywhere.

Building a Station Website

Essential features for an internet radio website:

  • Listen Live button — a direct link to your stream URL
  • Now Playing widget — showing the current track in real time
  • Schedule page — your weekly programme grid
  • About page — your station’s story and format
  • Contact page — for listener messages

WordPress is the most widely used platform for station websites and has the most radio-specific plugins available.

Now Playing on Your Website

SAM Broadcaster Pro’s HTML Output feature (accessible from the Tools menu) generates an HTML file with current now-playing information. You can use this file as a source for a now-playing display on your website or an internal monitor.

Most streaming hosting providers also offer a now-playing API or embed widget through their control panel that reads directly from your stream.

Remote Access to Your Broadcast PC

To manage SAM Broadcaster Pro remotely — adjusting the rotation, adding tracks or troubleshooting — you need remote desktop access to your broadcast PC. Reliable free options:

  • Chrome Remote Desktop — free, works through a Chrome browser, no port forwarding needed
  • AnyDesk — fast performance, free for personal use
  • RustDesk — open-source, can self-host the relay server

Security for Remote Access

  • Use strong, unique passwords for all remote access tools
  • Enable two-factor authentication where available
  • Do not expose Windows Remote Desktop (RDP) directly to the internet without a VPN
  • Keep remote access software updated
