SA – Database Magic connects to your SAM Broadcaster Pro MySQL/MariaDB database, finds artists whose songs don’t have a website URL, and automatically looks up their official website using MusicBrainz, Wikidata, Discogs, and Wikipedia. Found URLs are written directly back into your songlist — no manual research required.
Why stations use it
- Fully automatic — connects to your database, finds artists missing website data, looks them up, and writes the results back. Set it and walk away.
- Four lookup sources — searches MusicBrainz, Wikidata, Discogs, and Wikipedia simultaneously. If one doesn’t have it, another likely will.
- Parallel processing — looks up multiple artists at the same time for faster results on large libraries.
- Resumes where it left off — progress is saved automatically so you can stop and restart without losing work.
- Multiple database profiles — save credentials for different databases and switch between them instantly.
- No installation required — unzip and run. No Python, no dependencies.
What it supports
- Database: SAM Broadcaster Pro MySQL/MariaDB
- Lookup sources: MusicBrainz, Wikidata, Discogs, Wikipedia
- Platform: Windows 10 / 11, 64-bit
- Connection: local or remote database over TCP
How it works
Enter your database connection details, save them as a profile, and click Start. Database Magic queries your songlist for artists with no website value, then fires off lookups against MusicBrainz, Wikidata, Discogs, and Wikipedia in parallel. The first service to return a verified official URL wins — social media, streaming, and wiki links are filtered out automatically. Each found URL is written back to your database in real time. The activity log shows every step so you always know what is happening.
If you need to stop mid-run, that is fine. Progress is saved after every artist so the next run picks up exactly where you left off. When the full run is complete the progress file is cleared automatically.
Free. No subscription. No cloud account. No Python required. Runs on any Windows 10/11 PC.
