Station Admin Releases SA Tag Manager Lite — Free WordPress Song Tagging Plugin for Internet Radio Stations

Station Admin today released SA Tag Manager Lite, a free WordPress plugin that lets internet radio stations manage their music library tags directly from their WordPress dashboard — without leaving the browser or touching a database tool.

The plugin always shows the song currently playing on the station. From there, operators can instantly update genre, decade, weight, comments, and lyrics with a single click. It supports both SAM Broadcaster (MySQL/MariaDB) and PlayoutONE (SQL Server) databases.

Key Features

  • One-click genre and decade tagging — preset buttons cover the most common genres and decades. Custom genres can be added on the fly.
  • Automatic decade column — on first connection to a SAM Broadcaster database, the plugin adds the decade column automatically. No SQL knowledge required.
  • Lyrics management — add, read, and edit song lyrics stored in the database. AZLyrics and Genius lookup buttons open the right page for the current song in one click.
  • Now Playing shortcode —
    Error: Database connection failed: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] No such file or directory
     displays the current track on any WordPress page or post.
  • WordPress auto-updates — updates appear as standard WordPress plugin update notices. One click to install.
